Is there a connection between good food and good architecture – I think perhaps there is. We’ve had some lovely family celebrations over the last couple of weeks, gatherings of relatives and friends, the slow careful preparation of a celebration meal, wonderful birthday cakes, kids (and dogs) running around everywhere. It has been joyful, creative and involved time dedicated to each other. It occurred to me that re-shaping a home has similarities – it too involves time, thought, preparation and that unique emotional input that only a family can bring to it. Its not quite the same as generic fast food/instant template building/quick tv styling fads, (all of which which can adversely affect either your wallet and/or quality&health), its something that is specific to the family, that celebrates and frames their everyday together. Such moments and environments are timeless, they have meaning and soul – now that is worth raising a glass.
