Fragment

This pendant lamp design, by Scott Donnell of Donnell & Day Architecture, was constructed from fragments of timber battens – a mix of recycled cedar and demolition rimu form different tonal bands through the pendant fitting.  It was designed to custom fit a stairwell, complimenting the existing timbers and skylight design. At night the light glows through the irregular openings creating a rich light texture within the space, by day it is a beautiful sculptural form.
