I’m currently finishing off a set of working drawings, its the stage where you get into the nitty gritty of how everything fits together. Today, as I detail up the timber cladding, I’m reminded of several buildings in Helsinki that caught my eye. Its a traditional architects pilgrimage to see the work of Alvar Aalto in the flesh, what I loved about his work was the humanity, the textures and the beautiful detailing of each junction…. now back to those joinery details….
